Armed robbers attack mall, injure one in Delta

Armed robbers on Tuesday attacked a shopping mall, Raycom Telecommunications, at Akpodiete junction, along Isoko road in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

A yet-to-be identified man was shot in the stomach as the men robbed shop owners and customers, carting away mobile phones, accessories, laptops and unspecified amounts of money.

The victim has been rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

It was learnt that the robbers operated for over one hour without any confrontation from security operatives. They reportedly wielded sophisticated weapons like AK-47 rifles.

The owner of the shopping mall, Chief Raymond Anozie, could not be reached for comments at the time of this report.

Also, the acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, is yet to comment on the matter.
