Army raids mosque in Kano, arrests 10 suspected Boko Haram militants

The Nigerian Army, Saturday evening, stormed a mosque located at Filin Lazio, Hotoro in Kano and nabbed 13 Boko Haram suspected members.

An intelligence operation was conducted in a way that did not raise eyebrows of the fasting-breaking Muslims.

It was gathered that the mosque belongs to some Borno natives who fled the troubled Northeast due to the Boko Haram insurgency.

DAILY POST further learnt that the troops took away some unidentified items from the surroundings of the mosque.

Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, Director Army Public Relations confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday.

The spokesman said the operation was part of efforts to apprehend criminals who may want to hibernate in any part of Kano.
