The recently trending issue online is this word “lori iro” meaning all are lies or all na lie. The word trend with so many videos and talks. I saw so many post on the issue and the only thing that came to my mind when I hear the trending word is …..Lori Iro Estate.
Many of my friends are victims of Lori Iro Estate (Fallacious). Lori Iro Estate are all over the place, they have different marketing strategies, their advertisement package is superb, when it is close to any festival or special day they present mouth watering offers.They sell at ridiculous and tempting prices, they ask you to buy one and take one or buy one and take bag of rice …They construct beautiful entrance wall fence …some fence are higher than Hell Gate. They look for unique and beautiful name for the Estate.
They target people in the diaspora or busy people who are far from the site, they have hidden charges that they wont let you know from the start. they get one or two celebrities to endorse their products.
Their Marketing Baits;
- 5min drive from Ikeja ……lori iro
- Close to Unilag gate ……lori iro
- It is developing at a fast pace…….lori iro
- The train station is next to your door…..lori iro.
- We will give u free cement…….lori iro
- N10,000 per plot …..lori iro
- It is an Approved layout ……..lori iro
- C of O for you……lori iro.
We have good ones among them but the bad ones are many ….so shine your eyes. Most of the land are in Jungle where there is likely we have a lion house, there is no good roads to most site, no power supply, no water supply, no security…its so Sad the way they package lies for innocent people.
Best Practices before Buying Land from these Promoters;
- Ask for the coordinates of the Survey or location , you can check from Google yourself.
- Make sure you Visit the site to see things for yourself
- Ask for photocopies of their title documents
- Go to the nearest Town planning office for planning information.
- Go to BLS, Min of Lands for charting and document verification
- Go through there terms and conditions before you sign if possible contact a lawyer.
- Lastly confirm the integrity of the Estate management from traditional leaders of the location.
It is sad to fall into traps, seek knowledge and be freed from the Everyday Real Estate Traps.
